Greetings! Come join me to watch, marvel, photo and be photo-ed at the wonderfully creative Parade the Circle event at University Circle in Cleveland. Local groups of artists, musicians, dancers and just lovers of good art and a good time create fantastic costumes and small floats mostly from found objects. - The misunderstanding did seem a bit wilful at times but the whole area is a minefield . Cultural appropriation takes a number of forms here - including commercial - and heated debate is not unknown .

- Dear Kate , It seems to me that the cultural appropriation debate has gone in circles and any further comment would just leave one open to further misunderstanding . More heat than light ! The nature of an interleaved thread means that even those who took part in the earlier discussion will find it fragmented . As well - one of the later participants is someone who follows me through the Aether - as a sort of chorus - without adding anything . Pity that some of our peers cannot restrain themselves in what might otherwise have been an illuminating discussion .
