Choose your own adventure writing

Hello, I was thinking last night about a steampunk game I'm playing at the moment (80 Days, available in the iStore). It's essentially an interactive novel, because it's largely text-based adventures - you're Passportout in a steampunk version of Around the World in 80 Days, and each city (there are 144 of them) has a different adventure, and most routes have different adventures too (murder mysteries on dirigibles, mutinies on steamers, escaping Captain Nemo). My playthroughs have created…See More

A few weeks ago I discovered the game 80 Days in the App Store - it's incredible. It's a steampunk version of Around the World in 80 Days, with you as Passportout, trying to get Fogg around the world. You can control funds, items, and destination. So far I've done everything from taken mechanical birds across Mongolia to riding in a mechanised walking city across India, been captured by Nemo off Madagascar and solved a murder mystery on a Pacific hydrofoil. Every time you complete a round, your…See More

"I'm not sure I agree, Blimprider; it's definitely the first war where modern technology really became game changers (telegraph and railroad), but the tech advances such as the Hunley never had a huge impact. Historically, other great wars…"

Ah, a fellow scribbler!  Welcome to the aviary, Milady.  Allow me to invite you to peruse Scribblers' Den, an on-line tavern for writers to share.  Pay us a visit, join if you are so moved, but in any case, have a great stay at the Empire!
