My nume aici is Dr. L.S. Dawney, but you can call me Maggie.
I would say there's not much to know about me, but that would not be true. There's just too much to put in here in any great detail. As you get to know me, or you see me around other places, you'll find little things where you'll scratch your head and say, "I did not know that." Years from now, you will still scratch your head and say, "I did not know that." I am a prism, infinitely colourful, and bright enough you should make sure you are wearing protective goggles around me.
I have been speaking my mind as a freelance writer, journalist and researcher for 40 years. I am notorious for thinking well outside the box, and there are people who know me frighteningly well in the US, UK, Europe, Eastern Europe, Australia and Central Asia . When I lived in Scotland, I became known as "The Inimitable M", a moniker that has stuck to me, quite like packing tape, for almost 20 years.
I'm senior editor and chief operations officer for Canonbridge LLC, an independent publisher with four imprints specialising in non-fiction, new fiction, special-genre fiction and children's books. I opened a private Ning community for serious writers and sponsor the Write A Banned Book project in September. This year I'm going to write a Steampunk novel (story line as yet undecided) during the NaNoWriMo frenzy in November.
A few words about me outside of my work: geek/nerd, witty, sarcastic, an outcast from (but qualified for) the Triple Nine Society and The Pi Society, mother, future mother-in-law, early-stage Steampunker, former lighting designer for rock bands, trained concert pianist, former professional singer, coffee drinker, runner, politically progressive, an ethical culturist, and I read translated Eastern European and Russian literature for fun. I also have a cat named Gizmo Tesla, so named because of his ears and his penchant for sleeping on electrical cords.
Is that enough? I thought so!

Welcome to the Empire Maggie and thank you for your friendship. Those are some fascinatingly fearsome goggles you are sporting dear lady. One must wonder what strange visions they enable the wearer to see…
I hope your having a wonderful evening and I hope to see you around!
