How was Con Carolinas? Were there many steampunk folk there? Anyd good panels? Did you take any photos. I really wanted to attend but it wasn't in the stars.

I'm not sure if I'll make tCarolina Con in Charlotte. I would love to but I have a book signing scheduled for my magical realism novel, Shaman Circus on Friday night and don't know how exhausted I will be. It's an art gallery and ends at 11 pm. Since I have never been to a con before in my life, I want to be in the most rested state of mind to handle all the wonderful sensory overload. I know my friends Gyspey Teague and Marla are going. (I saw you on Gypsey's site) so I may change my mind after talking to them and just wing it!
I can't wait to read both "Medusa Blooms" and your new story.

Welcome to Upstate Steampunk. We will be having a Meetup the 10th of July at the Marriott in Greenville, the site of the convention. We will also be having a meetup at Dragon Con at the Hilton bar on Saturday at 9 pm. If there is anything you need please write and ask. We hope to see you at these meetups and at our convention in November. Gypsey

Lord Maxwell:
Congrats on the Absent Willow acceptance. That is a laudable publication with top-notch writing! Can't wait to read it, Is it steampunk flavored?

Oh by the way, what is the title of your novel and where can it be found? I'm a novelist as well, but my first published novel is more in the lines of magical realism/dark fantasy. I wrote it before I even knew steampunk existed. But now I've written one steampunk short story and a second WIP which at 6,500 words may be too long for current short story markets. I'd like to hear mroe about your writing.

Yes - a short story please! I want to feature as many local writers as possible. And there's also a steampunk meetup group which will be holding a gathering at the same hotel as the con on July 10th so we cna meet other folks before the con. As a newcomer to all this, I find this to be a great way to learn more. Here's the link:
