"If I could have found the hat I wanted in person there would have been a celebratory dance in the store rather than an excited leap across the counter; sadly I am still trying to find retail establishments that cater to my needs and wants."

"Oh, poor Jerry!  I hope the fellow's back has had time to heal since he... ah... mishandled that last parcel from our colleague in Arkham.  Anyway, I'm glad that you enjoy your hat, even if your behavior has been a bit disturbing…"

"Erm...  I meant "brass."  Last time I drink tea at this blasted device.  The other type of goggles would've been highly inappropriate... However...  Yes, if I just tweak the depth on the perception lens... "

Once more on hats.....I like hats.

My long awaited hat has finally arrived! I am afraid I was so excited when the post man handed me my parcel I may have behaved in a most unlady-like fashion. Jerry, I am sorry for jumping the counter and embracing you so tightly. See More

Well, as promise my husband did bring me on an outing for a new hat (to replace the one ruined by exorcise smoke issued by the tea kettle.....it's a rather long story). Sadly my head proved to be a bit too small for the hats we found today, but one has been sent for! I shall now take up residence outside the post office, clawing at the door as I wait impatiently for my new cranial covering.

I've done my share of worrying over them, as well.  Of course, at the time, I was primarily concerned with the loss of my facial hair.  It has thankfully grown back (with that odd lighter patch, however), but the smell at the time was more than dreadful...

I'm glad that you're happy.  My jealousy may be put to positive use, as well; I think I may finally have the drive to dust off and repair those old spectacles that were partially melted in that incident with the djinn.

*raises an eyebrow*  I'd appreciate it if you watched your tone, dear.  On an unrelated note, your new goggles came out quite well.  I'm a tad envious, really.

When you take that tone, it feels like I already am.

Oh, dear, I'm sorry.  It was "Little Women," wasn't it?  I always get those two confused!

I'm not making any promises.  Temporal rifts are treacherous things.  I'm merely saying that if the opportunity presents itself, I'll try to recover the books.  If I recall correctly, the tomes in question were "The Necronomicon Primer," "Malleus Maleficarum," and "Pride and Prejudice," right?

At 1:19pm on August 13, 2012, Seamus MacCumhaill said…

And you're saying that somehow that isn't your favorite soul?  If the books mean that much to you, I'll keep a sharp eye out for a temporal vortex and see if I can coax some copies out of the past.

And now you know just how careful you must be when dealing with the moon.  And as for "letting" it eat your books, it was going to eat something, and it was my judgement that a few books - valuable as they may have been - were preferable to our faces or our very souls.
