Actually, that's pretty on the money. You can do a lot with it, depending on what bit you've got on it and how you use it, but fundamentally yes, its a carving drill at 30,000 RPM. I've used mine for anything from carving a face into a lump of pewter to grinding a fresh edge onto my machete.

A Dremmel is a power rotary tool. It looks like a drill, but you use it more like a grinder.
