Hey. I'm Steve, or in my own alternate reality, Adam Prometheus Von Frankenstein. I'm a writer/producer in the entertainment industry. Got into steampunk not from literature but because of the killer fashion. But am now reading steampunk and producing some music, music videos and soon, film!
This is a short film by Jean-Pierre Jeunet, made for Chanel as a commercial. I had the honor of meeting Jeunet on Alien: Resurrection, a not good film, but one that the director cannot be blamed for. It was a studio nightmare. Just off the international success of "La cité des enfants perdus" (City of Lost Children), Fox bamboozled Jeunet into coming to America to direct the next Alien movie. He hesitantly agreed with a list of stipulations, none of which Fox ended up honoring. Fortunately, he went back to France, and after a few years, presented the world with "Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain" ("Amelie" in the US). In 2009, Chanel pleaded with Jeunet to make a commercial for them. He would not, so they offered him the opportunity to make a short film. he agreed. It stars Audrey Tautou (Amelie, The DaVinci Code) and Ralph Lauren model Travis Davenport. Not really steampunk, but it features some beautiful scenery and shots reminiscent of the genre. Enjoy!
