Hi everybody, I am writing a story (well, about 250 pages when all is said and done) and I need to think of a name for a fictional gambling hall in London around 1880. Any suggestions? By the way,…Continue

You have some very nice images posted. I do not know if you go to Shorpy, if not you may enjoy the images they offer.

Thank you so much for your sweet inquiry, unfortunately my internet hasn't been working lately so my involvement online has been limited. Things are going pretty well I have some obstacles in life I am trying to overcome but I believe everything can be accomplished with some genuine ingenuity! Hope you are doing well and life is a magical and mysterious pleasure for you!

I think that we must have marvelous taste to love the same photography style! I absolutely love that photo set and fancy myself dreaming about living in that moment. Thanks for your wonderful comment and look forward to chatting with you some more.
Delila Black said… My dear Contessa,
I'm still having a little trouble with this site but it might be because I'm not sure which messages are directed to me...I really must sort out my understanding of how things work here. I've been away for a week or so but what a treat to return from my travels and find your message. Thank you for the writing sample. I'll download it and read it this evening. Please don't worry about any harsh criticism. I understand we are all in various stages of development. Personally I enjoy the process and I enjoying encouraging people to explore their talents. I'm certain it gives one a more positive outlook. Also, it's fun!
I sing semi-professionally and I'm working towards making it my day job. I split my time between music and fashion. I was working for a company but decided to try it on my own last year. I have less money but it gives me more time to pursue my dreams which means more to me. I'm one of those "you only life once", "this isn't a rehearsal" people. lol.
I think it's wonderful that you not only do costume design, you also write! So, how was your week my dear? Are you enjoying your projects? Meeting people with this attitude fills me enthusiasm.
Best wishes
DB
Delila Black said… Good day Contessa, how lovely to receive your message. It sounds like you must be in thermals perpetually. I'm a complete wimp where cold is concerned. The cold makes me cry. hahah....I can't say I'm getting used it living here, but I am learning how to function under umpteen layers of clothing. It's quite comical.
I understand what you mean about feeling out of place in 2013. I'm all for making the world suit me rather than the other way around hahahah. ...oh! you mentioned sewing, how exciting. I'm a big sewer myself. My true love is music but I do enjoy making things. Are you enjoying your class? How fun! What are making at the moment? Any photos?
-and I must look into these spin off groups you mentioned. Let me know if you see any music related ones. I'm experimenting at the moment. My thing is to make traditional sounding music.. country-blues, hill-billy, bluegrass-y or western style and infuse something off and futuristic into it.. an odd sound ... I'm working on a kind of SteamPunk for the ears- type of thing.
have a listen to Vanilla Ice Cream when you get a chance. I think you just click on the button when you get to the webpage. I've been performing around London for a while..but really wanted to push this sound thing. I never knew it had a name.
SO about the writing! You simply must let us read you sometime. I'm already excited.
I'm off to face the cold now.
à plus tard my dear.
