"It was seven years ago and I was still in high school. I was writing a Harry Potter fanfiction and describing it to a friend of mine. 'It's sooo original! It's Harry Potter but... but.... VICTORIAN AND MODERN AT THE SAME TIME!!'…"
Introduction: I am Admiral Ulysses Percival Hawke III of Queen Victoria's royal navy. For thirteen long years I have scoured the skies for the heathens who dare call themselves 'sky pirates' until the day I come face-to-face with the murderous dogs who slaughtered my entire family before my eyes. In the meantime, should I eradicate any more of the villainous hedonists who call the sky home, I will consider it a great service to the empire in Her Royal Name. Vive la Reine!
Hawke was born an illegitimate son to a Royal naval officer and a prostitute. Mostly kept hidden from the public eye, he was forever trying to win his father's and older sibling's favor by being the best in his classes and later the sky navy, and for a while, he was. He never did succeed in bringing favor upon himself, but he has always kept the same drive, eventually becoming an admiral despite constant ridicule for his feminine appearance and dandy-like manner. In his late twenties he married a woman named Annabelle and had three children; however, after angering a sky pirate captain by bombarding his fleet, they were killed in front of him as punishment. Since then he has flown the skies with vengeance, searching for those who killed his family and taking down any sky pirates along the way without question.
At some point around five years ago, he accidentally shot down a fellow royal navy vessel that was flying undercover, resulting in his being exiled by Queen Victoria. Since then he has flown with who and whatever he can, still hunting sky pirates (even if he's flying with them,) and still insisting he has Queen Victoria's best interests at heart.
Personality-wise, Hawke is blustery and overbearing, with a rather annoying zeal for what is 'lawful and just'. He despises being called short or feminine, despite being something of a dandy, and calls people who over-consume alcohol 'weak' while being in denial that he is, in fact, an alcoholic.
*out of character*
I live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and would love to start my own Lawful Good airship aboard Admiral Hawke's ship the Lacuna Beryl. I'm actually a female (Hawke is not and would prefer not to be called such,) in grad school for video game design, so my schedule is admittedly full, but it would be so nice to make a few steampunk friends (I'm fairly new to the scene,) and participate in cons, larps, and maybe even some plays.
