Profile Information

For the last 17 years I have been called Wanderer by my closest friends. Im a real life Steampunk and have an unhealthy attraction to metal, melting/welding/bending and shaping it. Ive done some garb years ago in the SCA but mostly prefer to craft and have good times with fun people!

You gotta tip your hat to the heat exchanger! Nice work - its been years since I seen any. About 10 years ago, I had the oppertunity to work on a steam engine for Cass Railroad. We had the old boiler in our shop and I had to climb down inside it to take dimensions and create the new drawings for it. We even had a few guys from Cass come down and teach our guys how to rivet. Most of it was welded but we had rivets in some places for looks. It was like a step back in time. Thanks for sharing the pics and perhaps sometime we'll meet. We get over by Newark semi-often. Cheers!

It was a pleasure to meet you and your family today, but I do apologize that we seemed to miss you after our initial meeting. The first floor of Mendleson's did not have quite the charm or mystery of the third floor and subsequently the small band of steampunks managed to disperse rather quickly before we had a chance to see you again. I do hope that you managed to find some good stuff at the warehouse and I look forward to seeing some of your makes posted on the Empire.

thanks you ;) I wish that i could find larger pieces to do bigger stuff with. The only ones I can find cost a fortune (for me anyhow, I have no real idea how much the stuff should cost), and i find it so infrequently that it is very discouraging!

The steampunk crowd thus far seems to lack the drama of immature social politics, and unlike various other anachronistic groups don't take themselves too seriously. The poses, the rhetoric, the back stories, and such are just part of the jolly good fun of this surprisingly positive community.

I look forward to meeting you someday at an Ohio Steampunk event or two :)
