sometimes you can get a little carried away with whole DIY thing .
earlier this year I finally finished my first real attempt.
I proudly wore them all weekend at Marcon over the memorial day weekend.
doing so led me to one inescapable conclusion:
they sucked.
the fit was horrible .like wearing two paper bags wrapped around my feet.

just thought I would wish all the folks here a happy valentines day
and share a picture of what I made my wife for the occasion.
leather roses with a little steam flair.
the stems and leaves are brass with a few plumbing fittings
thrown in (extra steam points!).
This is the first time I have attempted this (flowers),
I thought she might appreciate something I made just for her .…
How "I" do it : custom pouches dirt cheap.

may actually know what I'm doing when it comes to leather working.
I was asked to help someone make holsters for a couple pieces of equipment.
problem was being a complete beginner, they needed a project that a beginner could do

I've made more stuff in the last six months than I have in the last five years!

something I thought was interesting: this car made the run from a STANDING START.
most land speed attempts I've seen utilize some sort of pusher vehicle .
