I am somewhat new to the steampunk and Neo-Victorian world, but nevertheless am fascinated by it and always looking to learn more about it. I have worked TempleCon, the retro-futurist convention, since 2010 in various capacities (I recently took over the role of arts coordinator), and plan to continue for as long as I live on the East Coast of the US.
I juggle two careers - one in music and one in consulting, and I'm currently finishing a bachelor's in music performance. I'm a classically trained mezzosoprano, and compose and perform regularly. Although primarily a vocalist, I also play some harp, djembe, and piano, and am planning to expand my instrumental repertoire in the next few years to cello and pipa as well.
At my consulting company, Maenad Creative, I specialize in social media, content writing, and community management, and I provide consulting and instruction to professionals in the tech and creative communities. In addition, I do arts management, business planning, and startup consulting.
I'm a part-time author, and recently self-published my fourth novel, a modern post-gothic story called The Road to Golkonda (if you want to read it, let me know!).
When I am not writing music or stories, I am usually spending time with friends or my partner, reading, watching films, working out, or drawing. I occasionally design and/or modify clothing as well, and I occasionally undertake modeling assignments for glamour, gothic, art nude, and alternative photography and art.
As the arts coordinator forTempleCon, I primarily work at booking performing artists and models, organization, scheduling, and promotions. At TempleCon 2012, you can find me throughout the weekend performing, paneling, modeling, and assisting other panelists, artists, and volunteers.
