Profile Information

~A Stout man with feral eyes and long brass buttoned over coat. His wild long hair is only kept neat by a old ribbon making a furry pony tail. His beard is as wild as his hair. As he shuffles about, dust rises from his clothes like a light fog and a clanking noise that some may know as the dreaded lightning sword, follows rhythmically with his every step. The very portrait of a gruff leader of lawless men and women. He has a wild nature that reminds one of a time when the line between man and beast was very thin. Yet, he hides it in a veneer of self control and impassioned intellect. The Hinderscipe, is a special dirigible called a StormReaver. A ship built to utilize the fury of electrical storms to power its turbines and weapons. His loyal crew are all scientists and inventors as well as completely insane.

The captain is building a niche for himself and his loyal crew in the Steam Enthusiasts community as promoters, prop makers and costume designers. Since the impromptu panel at dragoncon 2008, he has been asked talk about there thoughts on steampunk and how to get started in it. Capt. Thorngauge works with the band, The Extraordinary Contraptions. As prop builder, MC, and merch salesperson. The band honored him with a song on their 2nd album called "Thorngauge" and his ship is mentioned in another song called "Nocturnist". Capt.Thorngauge (aka Ace Talkingwolf) is no stranger to fandom and gaming conventions(1st StarTrek panelist at DragonCon 93'). A model photographer by trade, he also works as an event Voice over artist, (formerly at Medieval Times) and at Netherworld Haunted House as a special effects artist. He is one of the owners of 9COP FX and NextStep Films. He is also a senior director(Convention Host) for AnachroCon.

Talkingwolf AKA Captain Thorngauge

Greetings, I am Ace Talkingwolf. I was a photographer in Atlanta GA. I am also a professional Spl-fx MUA and actor. A while back, I was introduced to the world of Steampunk. I have been a fan of HG. Wells, Jules Vern, Hp. Lovecraft and and have been collecting antiques since i was a small child. Crossing this with the idea of a world were the search for knowledge and science is greater then the pursuit of orthodox sedimentation. A time when people flew in every sort of flying machine, when form was as important as function to the point where everyday objects are works of art. A blending of Victorian high collar frill and modern free spirit to make ultra sexy fashion. I have built props and clothes for local indy films. My personae and his ship, "The Hinderscipe Airship" are featured in the songs of the steampnk band, The Extraordinary Contraptions . I am asked to help on projects and speak at conventions because of this wacky hobby.

Luminocity was hugely successful, and we are so thankful to those volunteers that showed up to help out! We were able to beg the Volunteers into the VIP party for free as a reward for all the hard work. We will post pictures as they appear. I was able to spread the word about AnachroCon to the press people there. The event was free and several thousand people came. There may be another in January that is even bigger. The Mayor Kasim Reed, City Councilman ,Big Boi and others helped make the… Continue
