I am not really an artist but I have found a way to cheat. I use Klutz books - preferably the My Fabulous Look Book which
allows me to draw an ensemble and handbag, shoes and close up view of the head. This allows me to envision a look on the female form. It also allows me to customize for my own measurements. And I find that I will readily follow a pattern.

Went to AC Moore and saw Darice's Chain Maille. These are jump rings that come in a range of sizes and colors that you can use to create your own chains. Stop at a local craft store and check it out.
Also, went to Borders book store and discovered "A Daily Creativity Journal 365 Make Something Every Day and Change Your Life!" by Noah Scalin. I Think a Steampunk version would be interesting.

I have finished Step 1 of my Coming Out ensemble. To explain the name, The Steampunk World's Fair in May will be my first steampunk voyage. And so, I have named my first ensemble the Coming Out. It consists of a champagne colored slip I bought from Ross: Dress for Less for $9.99. At my height of five feet it is full length dress on me.
