Welcome Aboard? And now what/
While I do log in from time to time, I am still figuring this gadget out. Hello out there! Right now, I'm making jewelry I hope to sell at http://www.batsday.net/events/events.html. Where else might I find fans? Any ideas? Here are some of the things I've been working on:…

Professor Pugnacious' Portfolio of Perils, Pugilism, and Perfidy-the Card Game of Victorian Combat
I've designed a card game that puts the players in the role of steampunk heroes fighting off the Gothic horrors that infest their world of Victoriana. Check out the artwork:

latest gun trying something new (for me)
Just finished my latest gun. I wanted to try combining a bunch of found objects and really make it steampunkish. It's nonfunctional but I think it's a fun prop. I'm calling it the X3 Mostly Nonlethal Anti-personal Blunderbuss.

After…

Miss Cherries Loves Shoes!!!
Hi ya'll...So everyone knows that Miss Cherries loves corsets. I have many artist friends who make corsets and jewelry and are truly great fashion designers..certainly better than I am. I have wanted to start doing something steampunky that isn't being done very much. At events the one thing everyone comments on are my stockings and my shoes. I have a friend who makes custom stockings for me. The problem is, that I really don't like sky high heels (at least for wearing) and low heeled…

Steampunk mermaids
I don't see many steampunk mermaids around. I've seen steampunk faeries, dullhalans, vampires, elves, and wearwolves. So why no mermaids?
If I were a steampunk mermaid, my tail would be copper colored ( if it were the element itself, it would rust) and it would be mechanical. My tail fins would be propellers but the body of my tail, although hiding the inner workings of the mechanism underneathe, would still be the skin of a fish. I would…

The Infernal Device
The new site for the Infernal Machine is up.
For those who do not know, The Infernal Machine is the collaborative project by myself, Steve Brook, and Todd Cahill.
It will be a huge automated mechanical steam and wind powered sculpture mixed with 2-d painting, and will be unveiled at this year's Artprize competition in Grand Rapids, MI.
And like last year's artPrize, I will be trying to organize more steampunk happenings during this three week…

This is not exactly steampunk related, so bare with me. As I'm sure you're all aware, a 8.9 earthquake has struck Japan, followed shortly by a devastating tsunami. In light of this, I have decided to put one of my masks up in a one day auction on Ebay. All proceeds will go to the Red Cross for the relief effort.
So if you've been considering donating, or like my work,…

The bad boy of Baroque is back in style with scholars, museumgoers, filmmakers, and even video artists
It has been a very big year for the Baroque genius Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio (1571–1610). An exhibition of some two dozen of his paintings, commemorating the 400th anniversary of his death, packed in the crowds at Rome's Quirinale last spring. News of the discovery of his bones in the Tuscan town of Porto Ercole, verified by DNA analysis, made headlines around the world. And at the annual convention of the College Art Association, University of Toronto art historian Philip Sohm, a…
