The Crossroads of the Aether
The Gentleman's Attire and Accessories - Hats and Goggles
Why, you may ask, is a lady writing about how a gentleman should dress, especially how a Steampunk gentleman should dress. Well, I write about it because what a man wears concerns the ladies. It is an advertisement, if you will for the kind of man he is and this concerns us ladies greatly. So firstly I should say, we love you all. We love our maker men and our working men. We love dandies and do-rights, and men in uniform. …

Goggles!
I finished my goggles last night. Well, probably not finished but usable. I'll probably add some more bits and pieces, a pressure guage, some copper here and there as I'm inspired. Starting from this...

Creations and ideas
Part of my problem was find a set of goggles i could wear over my glasses. I just finished a set of clip-ons fabricated from copper wire. They are quite striking when i wear them. I think with the right gas mask and top hat it will look pretty creepy.
I've also found a good set of wielding goggles with flip-up lenses i intend to work on next. I think i can make some cool mods to…

Trying to build up my supply of goggles again. =D Decided to make something a bit fancy. This pair of goggles features a clockwork dragon curling around the lenses, with a sprig of feathers behind it. One lens also has a red flame emblem on it which you can see through.
This pair is $95 and can be found…

More News on the Garment Frontier!
*(From over the hill comes the beating clank and hiss of Rev.Hammers Immense Steam Driven Portable Cathedral and Patent Medicine Side Show. The air brakes apply with a grunt and it shudders to a stop. From somewhere in the back of the machine a pipe organ suddenly blares to life as the 2 story tall oak front doors creak open. A heavy velvet curtain is revealed. There comes a burst of acrid smoke…

Yep! Finally got more materials to make goggles with! =D Here's the latest pair, modeled off of a crow. The lenses are purple, and the left one has a silver crow skull on it. The wearer can see right through it, of course. I've just listed them over on my Etsy shop.

I'm almost out of goggles (quell horror!), so I've started production of a couple more. This pair I made based on a comic I did some time ago called Sophie the Steampunk Ninja Catgirl. I just loved her goggles and had to make a pair in real life. Actually, these have a few slight differences...which make them even cuter, I think. Whee!
As usual, they're up on my Etsy…

Happy Peppy Steampunk Day!!
Today just seemed to be a great day for steampunk for me! I'm currently in Missouri for a funeral, and my mother and I found this wonderful little antique store. I don't think they knew what they had! I found a wind up clock to take apart, an old box camera (said it was from 1909, only $20!!) And some very old protective glasses that I plan on wearing to teslacon. (pics below) And when we came back to the hotel, there was a documentary on the history channel about steam!! (however much I…
