The Steampunk Empire

The Crossroads of the Aether

My schooling is finally taking a break (only for a month, I'm afraid), so I now have more time to dedicate to my sewing. I've had the materials to create three gentlemen's waistcoats and two pairs of ladies' bloomers for months now and just haven't had time to make them. I'm hoping that I'll be able to get them done in the break between semesters, as well as do work on some of my own projects.

First up, however, is AnachroCon, which is this weekend, and which I will be sitting two panels for, one on Victorian sci-fi and another on race and gender in fandom. Predictably, I'm in a panic about what I should wear. Not that I don't have half a dozen suitable things in the closet that can be pulled out at a moment's notice, but I think I may have been unintentionally spoiled by having a new outfit to debut at every event. Really, with the frequency steampunk gatherings are occurring in Atlanta nowadays, I'm going to have to let this particular obsession go.

So, I'll find something in my closet--never fear! Although, I do have time to maybe add one or two things to my ensemble....

I'm afraid I won't be there on Sunday (I have a longstanding prior commitment), but I will be there during the afternoon on Friday and pretty much until I feel ready to go home on Saturday. :)

It probably will be fine, but the costumer in me is nitpicky about that sort of thing. I do know that my Friday outfit is going to be fairly casual--I have an interview a few hours before my first panel, so I'm going to wear my interview outfit with a few accessories.

Indeed! Do you plan on attending all 3 days of the event?
I will be there Friday evening and Saturday (morning-afternoon)
I'd bet not matter what you chose to wear, it would be just fine!
