I'm pretty sure his associate Charles Babbage, given his hatred of street performers, would have despised the performance. Aside from the engineering of it, I can't imagine Brunel going much in for that sort of thing either. I've only seen stills myself and probably would have hated it as well. Self-important multimedia extravaganzas tend to turn me off. But I could imagine Sir Kenneth performing the role.
Given the characterization in 2D Goggles though, perhaps Hugh Jackman would be better. Sidney Padua has forever skewed my view of Brunel as being the Wolverine of 19th Century engineers.
