Although it will likely be hot and/or rainy, next weekend will feature two opportunities for you to show off your steamy costumes. (I recommend summer-weight clothing and pith helmets!)

This discussion panel talks about popular 'steampunk' reading as well as elements that make up particularly steampunkian writing.

Friday June 12 - Sunday June 14th. Sci-Fi Summer Con (, in Marietta, GA. "The official start of summer sci-fi southeast fandom." The Extraordinary Contraptions will be guests, and AnachroCon ( will be hosting a small party in the consuite, at 3 pm on Saturday, where we'll be celebrating our first year as well as selling memberships for next year at a drastically discounted price ($10!!). This con is always fun and relaxing, so come on out! Cost: $20 for pre-registration thru May 20th. On-site registration: $35 for all three days, $15 for Friday only, $20 for Saturday or Sunday only, free for kids 12 years old and younger.
