Wow, my first comment! (well my first blogging too). Thank you I feel so welcome. I also got my first friend request. I'd like to friend you as well. Steam On! Candice Mueller aka Parthenia Edison
It would be fair to say that Madam Fate , my guide in all things , dresses in late-victorian style only on more formal occasions . Neither of us embraces more than elements of Steampunk . You get to choose how far you want to take it . In my case there are strong literary interests , mainly C19th . Most contemporary SP Lit leaves me cold . At any given moment current women's fashion includes strong and adaptable Victorian/Edwardian elements . Attractive garments can be sourced on line . There is no need to espouse an arcane philosophy to look good .
You might also be interested in Miss Alice Wolfenden's ' Antipodean Assembly ' , which aims to bring together all Australian and New Zealand steamers .
Miss Alice has been off air for some time but the site still chugs along .
Ballarat is about two hours north of Hamilton . We visit several times a year and it is a useful stop on the way to Melbourne . Wonderful Victorian era buildings . There would be no one within several hundred miles who had heard of the term Steampuk but we manage to struggle along . The locals have become used to our ways .
My Professor would regard himself as belonging to the neo-victorian strand of Steampunk .
I am Professor William Milliken of the Dustin Kahlil Band. I was wondering if I could ask a small favor of you? We are currently embroiled in a fierce competition via the Hard Rock Cafe. We desperately need votes to try and win this thing and a plug or endorsement from you to your fans would go a long way. I understand if you would rather not, but if you could see your way to helping us, we would be eternally grateful and in your debt!
This is our chance to send a steampunk band from an underdog market to London to play Hyde park. I assure you this is not spam, and I am doing this individual by individual, this is how passionately I feel about representing steampunk and underdogs everywhere to a global audience. Thank you for your time and consideration!
