Emmm, just read your introduction and realized you like parkour...? Because I absolutely LOVE parkour! I'm fairly alright at it, I'm able to do speed vaults, kong vaults, thief and lazy vaults, some free running vaults (dash vaults and the like) and a front flip, which is my pride and joy! Even though flips and shizzle are free running... SO I like them both! Also love wall runs, they're pretty cool... And precision jumps, of course!
Oh right, yeah I just realized that after I replied! Anyway, I like steampunk. A lot. Love the idea of steam-powered airships, the goggles, brass gears and clockwork tech, the Victorian-era technology. I'm currently writing a steampunk/fantasy theme book, on page 39!
How kind of you to invite me along. I must admit I have been low lately, but seem to have been galvanized into action. A terrible outbreak has occurred in the Sanitorium where I work. I am unaffected although I have yet to hear of final results of one of the minor infections due to the window period needed for my immune response to occur. Fortunately it is of a minor importance and reversible if treated prior to it necrotizing late stages....my closest friend; however, (and likely my oldest - despite my memory block) has disappeared. I have no idea where Kierny has gone......it has been awfully quiet without him around. I do hope he is alright.
Stepping out for a drink would be just what the head psychiatrist would have ordered. Humm, something bitter....I'll be there at 5:00 PM....on the dot.
There is definitely a growing steampunk community in New Zealand,For a long time there was one or two people scattered around, but now it's gaining popularity quickly. I've also noticed a lot more interest in events over the last 6 months or so which is very promising!
A warm thanks for the welcome. To answer your question I am both a hacker and a hawker, though I am trying to cut back on the hacking. Is there a place here I can be off for a drink? Alas, otherwise this evening I am stuck indoors with naught but this warm computer to keep my company.
It would be fair to say that Madam Fate , my guide in all things , dresses in late-victorian style only on more formal occasions . Neither of us embraces more than elements of Steampunk . You get to choose how far you want to take it . In my case there are strong literary interests , mainly C19th . Most contemporary SP Lit leaves me cold . At any given moment current women's fashion includes strong and adaptable Victorian/Edwardian elements . Attractive garments can be sourced on line . There is no need to espouse an arcane philosophy to look good .

Miss Alice has been off air for some time but the site still chugs along .
Ballarat is about two hours north of Hamilton . We visit several times a year and it is a useful stop on the way to Melbourne . Wonderful Victorian era buildings . There would be no one within several hundred miles who had heard of the term Steampuk but we manage to struggle along . The locals have become used to our ways .
My Professor would regard himself as belonging to the neo-victorian strand of Steampunk .
