The Crossroads of the Aether
The classic French Victorian occult/crime/adventure series set before and after WWI, starring Adèle Blanc-Sec, novelist-turned-investigative-reporter, is being brought to you on the big screen by Luc Besson. Well, at least in France. It appears to involve mummies, dinosaurs, lovely costumes, and at least a little mechanical science of the weird kind.

I bought this film after The Captain recommended it's viewing and we were thoroughly delighted by it. One of my favourite films is 'Amelie' and this is a Steampunk version so it couldn't be better.....
I regularly re-watch this, always with added pleasure.
Totally added the graphic novels to my Amazon.com wishlist so I don't forget to hunt it down. I hope one day we can get the copy of the movie stateside.
Wonderful news indeed, Marquis! Merci for the update. :)
Just a quick note. I've seen the film and read the comics. It is not Victorian, but Edwardian, and only Edwardian by the loosest definitions which extend to the signing of the Treaty of Versailles in 1919 instead of Edward's death in 1910.
The Victorian Era is 1837–1901.
