The Crossroads of the Aether
The classic French Victorian occult/crime/adventure series set before and after WWI, starring Adèle Blanc-Sec, novelist-turned-investigative-reporter, is being brought to you on the big screen by Luc Besson. Well, at least in France. It appears to involve mummies, dinosaurs, lovely costumes, and at least a little mechanical science of the weird kind.

Comment by Luke "Professor Philius" A. on March 14, 2011 at 3:11am Just a quick note. I've seen the film and read the comics. It is not Victorian, but Edwardian, and only Edwardian by the loosest definitions which extend to the signing of the Treaty of Versailles in 1919 instead of Edward's death in 1910.
The Victorian Era is 1837–1901.
