I remember sitting at my Nan's house over the summer holidays in Kent and watching this - it is an awesome movie. I would actually like to see it remade in this fashion as well as the exact description of war of the worlds horse drawn cannons against tripods - jolly good fun, I reckon!

I believe that it was this movie that planted the seed of my steampunkness. I remember watching it on TV as a kid and being struck by the notion of old diving outfits being used as space suits. At the time I was mad about Star Wars and all things space, but this movie left a deep impression on me. Years later (this one in fact) I now own it on DVD and find myself wanting to get you all interested in it too.
