Excerpt from the journal of Lady CAT .".. Ah! Good news! I have found my machete and sharpened my pencil so I am now able to continue this chronicle. I was at first confused as Miss Hatchet's hat came off just like a..hat. I had assumed it was an integral part of her and it turns out it is in a sense. The little stovepipe facing straight up allows for venting and the removal of the hat. However, rotating the stovepipe 90 degrees engages it to her protective skull access hatch. A most clever design! (I shall have to incorporate this feature in my automaton 'Jules' so he may tip his hat without lifting his head from his shoulders..) The hatch self-opened (another clever design!) and beneath.. I must confess, I was shocked, shaken and had to stop for a cup of tea before I could proceed...."

Miss Hatchet, I do hope you are well.

The sound of a distant voice echoes, oh, hello... I had to recharge and replenish. I at first thought I was dreaming. Whatever is the matter? Oh, good heavens, a machete! No, no, this is a little to invasive. Poor Miss Hatchet. I understand the curiosity but, let us approach this another way shall we.

I have been interviewing Miss Hatchet and it seems such a venture would indelibly ruin this most sophisticated and loved kinship between her late creator as she was built with loving care in mind.

I do have a solution, have a chat with her. It is most enlightening. But if you must, I suggest, a (data) transfer, a rather modern term for this setting and I think I may be able to help.

My ocular devices within my helmet can pick up certain electromagnetic perturbations and with certain outputs that do resemble (brain waves). This tells me that she has a variance, of which resembles emotion.

With both our efforts, we can, effectively call upon our gifts as researchers and explorers making compelling entries without unnecessary intrusion on more sensitive anatomical research -- Miss Hatchet in a sense, is alive.

The rewards will be plenty from this day forward, what do you say?

As an extra personal note, I have visited Mars, and found Curiosity a rather unique contrivance, that and Opportunity.

Oh my God what is going on here? It must be illegal. Who do inform the Royal Institution of Mechanical Engineers? The Royal Society For the Protection of Automata. I am confused. Jenny can you materialize? I think Lady KAT could do with some help and you speak the same language!

Excerpt from the journal of Lady CAT "...It was necessary to use an interruption ray to gain access to the subject, 'Miss Hatchet'. This should be safe and she will regain motor skill shortly although there is a rumor it may affect the voice box. (Why are these subjects always reluctant at first?). I MUST  have a look at her cognizant engine to discover the secret of her ability to think. Where on Earth have I put my machete?..."

Hello, there... I'm here. I have an interesting story. The latest on Mr. Wells. As I have been super qualified to go back to the Boer era, I have been entranced with these ideas, Lady CAT and all that have joined the society.

I have delved into a rather curious notion... a clockwork man, driven somehow, by a rather powerful source of energy.

Witnesses have claimed that, before, the Desert Spider Man, has the ability to absorb light energy. Albeit, this natural source of power seems to sustain the core, or heart mechanism. Luminous transference, that is.

My avatar as shown may appear as the "Roketeer" but this is what I appear to the initiated. I am what is referred to as an augment. A protective suit keeps me safe during travel. Otherwise, I would suffer great injury.

But I believe the same power core that keeps Mr. Wells moving, is the same as mine. Plus a sort of lensing effect that keeps me in disguise from those I come in contact. I am an amalgam of both timelines -- quickly referred to as the Convergence.

Lady CAT Lady CAT shouldn't you put that back? I have never witnessed this level of maintenance on a living entity albeit a wonderfully metallic autonomous automata of very high intelligence. Self forming algorithms no doubt. I am so poor at Maths I cannot comprehend what it might take to create such a being. Oh Sorry to chat to my Texan friends whilst this is happening to you Miss Hatchet. Imagine having a conversation with the surgeon whilst in the Operating room? What can you see Lady CAT? Jenny are you there?

Ah! Your head has a separate power source... I shall log that in my journal. We seem to be making progress but my curiosity (it's a CAT thing) is still unsatisfied.  You are a THINKING entity and to divine how that is accomplished I shall have to have a look inside of your head. Hmm...Where have I hear that before? Ah yes, that Dr. Freud ... nice fellow!
