We at the OTDTA can affirm #3 in the true answer! But time travel, forward or backward is done by passing to the nearest parallel dimension going the opposite way. Much like to trains passing each other on opposite tracks, opposite ways! You get off where you want in the "past" or "future' of your original timeline! But don't forget your Trivet or your papers

It is my fervent wish to join such an elustrious group. For I have made a cronograph that not only keeps time it is controls it. The specifics I do not wish to go into detail with at present for it is a family secret.
