Who is Ruby Spitfire?

Back when I had aspirations of becoming a model, I was trying to think of a good "pin-up name" and was coming up short. The world is full of "Betty Danger"'s and "Dixie Hearts"'s, and I wanted to portray a classic but fiery personality (which isn't too far from the "real" me, at least the fiery part ^_~ ). I also love the color red and was dying my hair crimson at the time, so Ruby was a natural choice. I had originally thought of "Shipwreck" as a nice play on my last name, but it just…

Katrine Malachy McCorbie - Journal Entry #3, dated 31 July in the year 2011 of this timeline

Anyone familiar with Irish family names, will, I am sure, have realized that McCorbie is not a name one will find in any list of Irish surnames.  That is because it is a name I took on as a result of events that happened between the time my parents.....well, anyway.... and the time I reached what could be called civilization once more.

After I fled the site of what happened I hid in the woods for many months. It was cold and wet…

The History of Lady Emma Darry

A long time ago, the name Church was the name on everyone's lips. This was before the time of Edmund Church, Lord of Langhill. In his life, he managed to lose all his family had built over the years, both assests and repute, leaving him with nothig but land. Edmund married a woman named Minnie, and soon after they wed, Minnie gave birth to dark haired, fair skinned twins. A boy with blue eyes, who they had named after his father, and a girl with brown eyes, who they had named Emma.…

Well it's offical! I'm off the charts in the deep end!!

So here it is... Now my definitely not SP boss is now suggesting places I can go to find the parts and pieces for my SP projects.

I started with the obvious places (the hobby and art stores). And am now on to raiding my father's auto shop and visiting the local bike shops for extra parts. The hardware store around the corner now knows me by name. And My mom is refering to me as her little grease monkey ( at 42-- really).

My Next project is getting much more ambitious and on…

Katrine Malachy McCorbie - Journal Entry #2, dated 28 July, in the year 2011

For many years I travelled the world, looking for more information about me parents. I often worked as a pilot, navigator or cook on whatever airship I could find in need of services I could provide. If it was headed in a way I wanted ta go I'd  e'en o'erlook many tings. Yes, I 'ave sailed with pirates but I 'ave never killed anyone, nicked anything from anyone who di'n't deserve it or tried ta control anyone else.

What I learned…

I wish they had done more inquiry into steampunk RPGs, they only mention two. And, of the two, they never played Etherscope (which is also out of print).

Had an opportunity to help vend hats with Avery Milieu Millinery during Portland's first ( that I know of) steampunk convention http://pdxgearcon.com/ Had a great time, hoping to have a camera with me for next time. Looks like a number of people are posting albums online, the panels I did attend on costuming were fun--looking forward to next year!

Katrine Malachy McCorbie - Journal Entry #1, dated 27, July of the year 2011 in this timeline

I be Katrine Malachy McCorbie, a free Irish woman, maker, traveler, wanderer. This be me journal, the telling o' me story.

My parents were traveling tinkers and Ireland was originally our primary roving ground. However, with the adaptations my father made to our wagon we were able to travel aloft and often went far from the shores of our homeland. By the time I was 15 I had been to China, Japan, the Ottoman Empire, Russia and even the Americas.

I…

Chains of mundanity

Raising a family, working, fixing ones home, giving your cat cat-nip to leave you alone to type in your blog are all things that are priority to ones secondary activities. It can be said however that in order to be more successful in your main endeavors you must have very healthy secondary activities such as hobbies, sports or what not. I could not agree more with this.

The mundane, I find to be much more vibrant and alive when your secondary activities blend well with the…

Kateryn Rowe~

Many years ago, a young girl was born.

Her named was Kateryn Stewart. Her mother died shortly after her birth, leaving her to be raised by her father, who had lost six other children before her. Because of this, as she was growing up, he was overindulgent. From a very young age she was allowed to accompany him on his travels to nearby cities, to study and read the same things that he went over. At the age of seven, she was able to view her first surgery. It was merely the mending of a… Continue
