      Fortune smiled on us when I learned that our opera tickets could be changed from Friday night to the Sunday matinee.

We were obliged to attend a family function on Friday night that was impossible to postpone but we made it to the  second performance of  Die Fledermaus, a favorite of both myself, Phineas, and my dear sister, the Contessa Luisa Baconi nee Sprockett who was visiting from Frankfort. 

     We arrived at the Tennessee Theatre just minutes before curtain time…

Staying in darkness,

away from light.

Skipping from shadow to shadow,

avoiding eyes.

Keeping to the edges, 

not to be seen.

What have I done to disturb…

To lead is knowing how to follow.

 For water does not just flow, but follows a path.

It can take what is in front of it, or carve out a new one over time.

It will find a weak point and create that new path.

If to lead is knowing how to follow.

Than one needs to learn how to become like…

Darkest o' Night are ya true?

For the Stars in the sky can show me truth.

Darkest o' Night hiding me in veil.

The Moon in the sky can light my path.

To why do you do this Darkest o' Night?

To what do you lose, when Light pushes through?

Do you wish to hurt…

Lost in the Sea, no compass nor map.

My guide in the sky hidden by clouds.

So, no navigation, none o' the kind.

Just here in our vessel, flowing in the Sea's tide.

Oh Lord, our Captain, what do you say?

Should we go with the flow, or should we push on this way?…

Hidden by a veil o' mist,

Disguised in a blanket o' snow, 

Flowin' with the currents,

Falling off o' cliffs,

Hidden in caves and ground, 

Or as hard as a brick,

Or just breathin' in.
